Change Is Coming

There are so many different forms of change, aren’t there? Some we welcome, some we resist, and others we regret. Yet, there is one fundamental element of change that has the potential to impact all the others in our lives for the better - ourselves.

“Change is coming, and today, it begins with me.”

John D. Inscoe

It’s never easy to initiate the kind of change you can’t see. We live in a world of instant gratification, where it’s easier to buy a new wardrobe to try and show the world the “new you.” But real change, from the inside out, takes time and effort. The rewards, though, will far outweigh the fresh look of new clothes.

If your inner voice has ever whispered that you could do better, chances are change is needed. Ask yourself: what energy is tied to the things you can’t let go of? Compare that to the change you want to see in yourself. What truly lifts you?

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are that change we seek.”

Barack Obama

We hold the magic within us. We are in control of the changes we often sit back and wait for others to deliver. It’s a powerful realization that everything we need to transform our lives already exists inside us.

“”To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.”

Henri Bergson

Nature provides a perfect metaphor for change. Think about the beauty of the seasons - Autumn’s vibrant colors don’t appear at the flip of a switch. They’re the culmination of processes that happen slowly, behind the scenes. Just like nature, the work we do to nurture personal growth eventually blossoms into a beauty that shines from within.

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

Rumi

Real change starts from within. As we make these inner transformations, the outer world begins to shift in unexpected ways. It may not always be easy, but the results are more lasting and meaningful than any surface-level adjustment we could make.
