Fresh Air
Right around this time of the year I am already looking for signs of a seasonal change poking up through the warming soil here in Southern New England. There has certainly been no shortage of mild air in these parts this year, January is leaving us with all but one day of temperatures above average. One of our warmest on record!
Getting out into the fresh air for a daily walk has turned into something of a need. The fresh air does such a good job of clearing the mind and cleansing the soul. I wish I could bottle up the fresh air unique to winter, breathe it in deeply when some of those dog days roll around later this summer.
We are in for a touch of Artic rampage at the end of the week. I’m looking forward to it, perhaps because I know it won’t last very long. I want to get out there and feel that invigorating feeling that comes with below zero windchills we don’t experience too often on the South Coast. I’m thinking if I can still feel my bones rattling instead of just snapping it must be a good thing. Heck, it means I still have some flexibility in them, right?
I like that we have all of these seasonal changes around here, sometimes all four within a weeks time! Yeah it’s a great reminder about all of the mental distractions that try and make their way into my days! I know with a little patience they too will turn into something a bit more tolerable! 😊
