A New Chapter

The Evolution of My Newsletter

Change has a way of finding us when we least expect it. Sometimes, it whispers—a gentle nudge toward something new. Other times, it arrives with clarity, signaling the time for transformation. After much thought, I’m excited to share a shift in how I connect with you—one that feels intentional and necessary.

For those who have been following my blog, you know that I’ve spent years writing about creativity, mindfulness, and the power of small moments. Until now, I’ve been publishing my blog posts on my website and Substack. But going forward, my Substack will serve a new, more focused purpose—not as a duplicate of my blog but as a true newsletter with a structured, curated format that I hope will bring value and inspiration to your inbox.

What’s New? A Newsletter with a Clear Structure

Rather than simply reposting blog content, this newsletter will take on a magazine-style format, featuring unique sections with different content each week:

📖On the Nightstand - A book, article, or essay that has caught my attention, along with reflections on why it resonates. Like Austin Kleon’s Steal Like An Artist, Austin has been one of my most significant sources of inspiration over the last few years. I still remember the day I came across his book while on a day trip to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

🎨 At the Studio - A look at my creative process—new projects, experiments, and the artistic inspirations that shape my work. I’ll also highlight other creators whose work offers a unique perspective. Another reason I encourage you to visit Austin Kleon's Website here.

📷 Behind the Lens - A mindful photography moment, with thoughts on how images tell stories and inspire emotions—no technical jargon, just reflections on seeing the world differently.

✍🏻 In the Writing Room - Insights on writing, storytelling, and how creativity finds its way into words.

🌿 The Week in Metaphor - A short, standalone metaphor to ponder, offering a different lens through which to view life.

A Blog Summary - A brief excerpt from this week’s blog post and a link to read the entire piece on my website. Gerry's Blog

🧘 A Thought to Carry - A mindful quote for the week, something to reflect on as we move through our days.

Why This Shift?

I wanted my Substack to be more than just another place to republish my blog. Instead, I want it to be an intentional space—a curated collection of insights, creative inspirations, and thought-provoking ideas. My blog will remain a home for in-depth reflections, but my newsletter will serve as a gateway to fresh ideas in a structured yet flexible way.

If you’ve been following my blog, don’t worry—you can still find my full-length posts right here on my website. Instead of duplicating them on Substack, I’ll now share a preview in the newsletter, inviting readers to visit my site for the full experience.

How You Can Support This New Chapter

If you find value in my writing, the best way to support this transition is by sharing the newsletter with others who may also enjoy it. Word-of-mouth is powerful, and personal recommendations help creative work reach those who will appreciate it most.

Additionally, some links in my newsletter may be affiliate links, which means that if you purchase a recommended book or product through one of them, I receive a small commission at no extra charge to you. This is another way to support my work while discovering books and tools that resonate with you.

Looking Ahead

Transitions take time, and I appreciate your patience as I fine-tune this new format. I’d love to hear your thoughts—which sections resonate with you the most? What would you like to see? Feel free to share your feedback!

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to the road ahead—one filled with curiosity, creativity, and the kind of moments that make life meaningful.

With gratitude, Gerry
