Brief

I often write about living in the moment, appreciating the “now” that is always in front of us. There are so many brief moments in this photograph, different measures of brief. Some of them fleeting and others measured over a period of time, yet still so brief in nature.

On this early October morning, first light has yet to fully illuminate my surroundings. The rising sun a wonderful back light delivering the silhouette feel to my photograph; steam fog slowly rising from the warm pond water as it blends with the cool autumn morning air.

The formation of the morning clouds temporary, but not as sudden as the seagull, exquisitely passing through my field of view. In just moments the sun will poke her head over the top of the trees and everything will change, except for the two small pleasure crafts, whose days on the pond are also numbered.

Fleeting is defined as a very short time, as in one’s life! How many of the fleeting “now” moments in your life will you notice before they change right before your eyes?
