Change and the Seasons Within Us
We all have a place where our emotions exhale - a room, a person, or perhaps a walking ritual that makes the world feel steadier. From that kind of safe ground, curiosity awakens. For me, it has been a quiet stroll that allows me to reach outward for a better view of what lives inside. Not as a place in history, but as a living story - a ritual that stirs something familiar in my soul. Perhaps you’ve felt this kind of connection too: that warm tug of recognition from a favorite person, or the comforting rhythm of a daily habit that’s become a kind of shared culture - where words and worries overlap, and the two of you become one.
At our core, we remain the same. Together, we learn to move with the light and the seasons that mirror the emotions we carry close to the heart. What’s on the surface may come and go - seasons drift away, only to return again. When we take time to remember who we are, we begin to understand what it takes to adapt when a need arises.
I’ve chosen these images because they trace a journey of change and permanence. The things that come and go in our lives shape how we see the world. But the work we do with intention creates abundance from what already exists. We are, by choice, who we want to be.
“Each moment of the year has it’s own beauty.”
- Henry David Thoreau
Intensity and tension are life’s weather. But with balance, reflection becomes quiet acceptance. Like still water, we can recognize clarity and grace in ourselves. And what of the mystery and memory that shape the origins of who we are? The seasonal changes in our lives offer renewal, warmth, and gratitude - even in the deep cold and darkness of winter, there is peace, endurance, and a needed hush before the next cycle of rebirth.
Our emotions, like the seasons, teach us about curiosity and continuity. We may be walking different paths on the surface, but we are all searching for reflections that call us home.
Change is inevitable - in the world, our surroundings, ourselves. But there is a constant within all of it. We are each unique, and that is a beautiful thing. Though the world rises and falls in what we perceive as beauty, there is always strength in knowing that, at our core, we are the constant. The strength that makes change more than just a token of our heart and soul - it becomes the foundation that allows us to stay true to ourselves.
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
