Cultivating Abundance
This week, I’ll be reflecting on the abundance in my life. While I try to practice gratitude year-round, Thanksgiving offers a unique moment to pause and truly celebrate the awareness that brings this abundance into focus. It’s a time to acknowledge what we have and the deep connections and inner growth that sustain us.
For me, abundance shows up in so many ways: the simple joys of watching my grown children continue to improve, the bridges of acceptance and peace built with my sisters, and the ongoing work of nurturing growth with the love of my life. These moments remind me that life’s greatest riches aren’t found in what we own but in how we connect, grow, and love.
“Abundance is not something we acquire. It’s something we tune into.”
Wayne Dyer
In years past, I often focused on the physical blessings of Thanksgiving—a steady job, a roof over my head, clothes to wear, and food to share. And while those are no small gifts, I’ve come to understand that true abundance runs deeper. It’s the inner fulfillment that comes from embracing gratitude and meeting life with an open heart. This shift in perspective has made my heart feel full long before I even sit down for this year’s feast.
“Whatever we are waiting for—peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance—it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart.”
Sarah Ban Breathnach
This realization is something I want to carry with me beyond the holiday. I’ve learned that cultivating abundance isn’t a one-time act—it’s a practice, a mindset that flows with us throughout the year. It’s about trusting that life will continue to provide moments of connection, love, and self-worth and being open to receiving them.
“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive—to breath, to think, to enjoy, to love.”
Marcus Aurelius
As you gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, I hope you’ll take a moment to reflect on the abundance within your own life. Celebrate the small wins, cherish the connections, and trust that the flow of abundance is always within reach when we meet life with gratitude and compassion.
Happy Thanksgiving!
