Imperfect

There is certainly no need for any of us to to seek additional training to become certifiably imperfect. This one character trait alone is what keeps each of us exactly the same. A friend once reminded me of what a crooked path life is. Indeed it is, and at each of those crooked points we are met with an opportunity to pause and reflect on the kind of qualities that are not unique to us alone.

“Stop trying to ‘fix’ yourself; you’re NOT broken! You are perfectly imperfect, and powerful beyond measure.”

Steve Maraboli

Sure, the path is crooked and through all of those twists and turns we are welcomed to some of the deepest parts of our emotions. There is a definite beauty in understanding the journey, removing the self imposed expectations we place on ourselves.

“It’s just life. You have to be able to get up, face your flaws, and just, whatever it is, a step, an inch, you just got to keep moving forward.”

Monty Williams

We are the best source of what it takes to provide the kind of self-care needed to accept who we are in our entirety. To be imperfect is to be like everyone else, understand this and you will stop trying to be something you cannot be.

“This means accepting our human existence and all of life as it is. Imperfection is not our personal problem - it is a natural part of existing.”
