Most Valuable Resource

No matter how hard you try, you will never be able to walk into a store, or shop online, to purchase more time to add to your life. Even so, we spend a lot of time complaining how we never have enough of it. Sadly, we spend too much of our time actually wishing time away.

Look, we are never going to have a house that is completely clean. You will never get truly caught up on all there is to do at work. An empty email box is only going to make room for more email, and task list and multi-tasking are for people who don’t appreciate time.

I’m reading a book right now, “Four Thousand Weeks”, by Oliver Burkeman. I’ve only begun, yes, one page at a time, lol! He writes, “if we turn our life expectancy into weeks, we would be shocked at how little time we actually have in this life.” Of course he is referring to an average life span absent of anything catastrophic happening to cut it even shorter.

So do the math, how many years do you hope to live? Now turn them into weeks! I know, right? Shocking! How many weeks do you have left based on how many years you hope to live? How much time have you wished away?

Fear not though, there is still time! Time to change your mindset, tear up your task list, and kick your multi-tasking habit to the curb. Your life is filled with enough time to enjoy many new experiences, one moment at a time!
