Over the summer we had the opportunity to visit Dog Mountain, home of the Stephen Huneck Gallery, in St. Johnsbury, VT. Here is the link to check out their site. Https://www.dogmt.com/

On the property is this beloved Dog Chapel which has become a go-to destination for dog families. This picture of the inside of the Dog Chapel shows it covered wall to wall with notes from families and individuals who have lost their cherished pets.

Not only are the walls adorned with pictures, testimonials, poems, and sketches of these beautiful creatures, but in the top right-hand corner, there is a rack with three-ring binders filled with similar notes from years past. It is impossible to walk through the chapel and read these tributes without being overcome with emotions.

It was a day of wonderful reflection, a chance to sit with your thoughts and truly feel-yes, feel- the joy wrapped in the spirit of sadness these adored family members have left behind. There is nothing I can add here. A visit to Dog Chapel, on Dog Mountain in St. Johnsbury, Vt is well worth your time. Bring tissues!
