The Process
I have been reading and hearing a lot lately about trusting the process and approaching projects with a beginners mind. I couldn’t agree more and I might add that the journey is much more interesting than the final destination. I used one of the stained glass windows in our church as a reference for this line and paint piece I did just before the holidays. I was tapping into a passion I had from when I was just a kid.
“The creative journey is less like a march and more like an ever-changing dance.”
John Spencer
When I take up a pencil or brush to create something I never know where it will go, I do know I have the freedom to play around and not worry so much about any kind of end result. Getting to wherever I end up is where the fun is. This particular piece has pencil, pen, paint, and even gauche in it! Who cares, and who would even know if I didn’t mention it!
I am finding that the journey is where all of the fun lies. I can do and be whatever I want, I am not worried so much about the final outcome as much as I enjoy all that goes into getting there.
“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved.”
Winnie the Pooh
If I pay more attention to the process instead of thinking about where I want to end up, then there is a pretty good chance the destination will be figured out for me.
‘Be brave. Let go. Trust the process. Allow the universe to reveal its beautiful plan.”
Amy Atherton
