Transition

The first full day of summer has arrived without a lot of noise.

Isn’t that what transitions actually do? They ease us from one place into another.

A little more light yesterday. A little less light tomorrow. A new season quietly turning the page into the next. A new direction, not much different from the previous one.

At least not on day one.

Looking back, I realize that most of life unfolds in the same way. It’s never about the dramatic changes, just those small shifts that we mostly miss while they are actually happening.

It won’t be until later that we notice we were already on our way to becoming something new.

I’m not sure about you, but this sits pretty well with me.
