…Of Happiness

These little creatures, four of them to be exact, have decided to take up residence in our yard for the last two years. We’ve strategically placed a few bluebird houses around in hopes of increasing their numbers. They are traditionally associated with happiness, connecting us to joy and positivity in our own lives. Happiness is a choice we can all make everyday, it can also sneak up on us when we least expect it.

“Happiness is something that comes into our lives through doors we don’t even remember leaving open.”

Rose Lane

As much as we all claim to want more happiness in our lives, we do a much better job of pushing it down on our lists of priorities. We worry about the things we can’t control instead of engaging the present, the only source of how we can feel at this moment.

Happiness is not something you postpone for the future, it is something you design for the present.”

Jim Rohan

Only you know what truly makes you happy. Try harder to look inside of yourself, it is where you will find the tools you will need to enjoy the simpler things that all around you. None of us are perfect, so save yourself a lot of time and wasted energy, stop looking for it.

“It’s a helluva start. Being able to recognize what makes you happy.”

Lucille Ball

“Embrace the glorious mess that you are.”

Elizabeth Gilbert

Become the bluebird in your life. Take the time to appreciate all of the wonderful things that make you smile…for free!

“The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.”

Henry Ward Beecher
