Serene

Calm, peaceful, and untroubled, tranquil! This photgraph was taken just about a year ago in Provincetown, Massachusetts. I remember thinking about it the night before, knowing I would have to get up early the next morning to see the sun coming up over the horizon. Never an issue for me at this time of day, never the need for an alarm clock.

Serene, as described above is always enough motivation for me to get up this early, literally rising with the look of a new day. The kind of adjectives applied to such a look, the same kind you wish you could bottle up and dose yourself with throughout life.

There would be magic if I were to capture this moment and attach it to a string, fill it with helium and loop it around my wrist. Stopping short during my day to be gently nudged with a vivd memory of how my day began! A clear, peaceful, and untroubled, tranquil, mind allows this thought to be with me right now!
